I have not cleaned the silver end to retain it's authentic patina - this must have belonged to a wealthy person - the addition of silver to this piece and the fact that it has survived for over 130 years points to a well made high end piece indeed

The raised brass cross and banding is very finely engraved and decorated with many banded agate cabochons
