The company had originally been part of the Ballets Russes de Monte-Carlo (with a plural name) formed in 1932 after the demise of Ballets Russes

as issued to passengers for the premium London-New York Monarch service

A particularly successful design which uses an undulating ribbon motif to connect the message with the product (a can of lubricating oil which also features the jointed man advertising symbol created by Kauffer)

As an original founder of Depeche Mode (and later Yazoo)
